Have you ever considered the historical buildings in the holiest of towns of Islam? Makkah constantly has a special place in each Muslim’s heart. For example, Pilgrims travelling on the Umrah may be introduced to Makkah’s history. This city emerged into prominence in the course of Hajra’s struggle in search of water for her son Ismael. God smiled upon her, and water began to flow beneath Ismail’s foot. This water source drew human beings, meaning the place developed into Makkah City.

Those who are non-Muslims cannot come inside Makkah. Muslims with an Umrah or tourist visa can move around in the city.

    1.      Jannat-ul-Maula – Famous Cemetry in Makkah

Jannat-ul-Maula is the oldest cemetery in Makkah, located north of Masjid al-Haram and near the Mosque of the Jin. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s wife, mother, grandfather, and other ancestors are buried here. This cemetery is sacred for Muslims because of the resting place of many Sahaba and notable Islamic figures. It is believed that Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail (AS) established this cemetery.

Jannat-ul-Maula has expanded over time, covering a large area. It is now enclosed by a white wall. Visitors cannot enter beyond this wall, so most pilgrims pay their respects from a distance. Book cheap umrah packages all-inclusiveand must include the visit to the cemetery as it is open year-round.

Before the demolition in 1926, Jannat-ul-Maula had many domes and tombs over famous graves. Like the buildings of Madinah’s Jannat al-Baqi cemetery, these buildings were to be demolished by Saudi King Ibn Saud in 1925. Now, there are no gravestones or identification markers, so most people pay their respects while standing outside the wall.

    2.      Site of BattleBaddar

Between Muslims and non-Muslims, there was a conflict. Muslims won with the help of Allah, who he provides unseen of people. This was the turning point for them. Muslims triumphed over pagans at the field of Badr three hundred and thirteen against thirteen hundred. The overshadowing combat has gained from the confidence and stability of the Muslim teams.

The village of Badr knows that this battle took place on Ramadan 17 in the second year of the Hijri calendar. The cave of the legendary people is situated in Jabal Thawr, in KSA. You can find this one in Makkah’s lowest regions. The cave is also called GharThawr and Ghar e Soor. It has historic and religious importance. In particular, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his best friend, Abu Bakr al-Saddiq, took safety in this location from Quraish persecution.

It took them three days and three nights to be in the cave. God commanded a spider to spin a web at the entrance to shield them from groups searching for survivors. Muslims now attach religious significance to the custom of praying in caves. Many visitors come to worship and make gifts.

    6.      Masjid Jinn

It is necessary to consider the famous Jinn Mosque in Mecca, also known as Masjid al-Jinn. In Islamic tradition, it is associated with a hadith, or more accurately, an incident from the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) life.  He read the Quran in the Wadi Jinn, and one day a group of Jinn came to him. This area is about 2.5 miles east of the mosque of Masjid al Haram. The Prophet used to teach them the Quran.

Regardless of that, the Masjid al-Jinn is a unique structure from that of the Masjid al-Haram. They act as a central area for worship for Muslims who are in KSA for Hajj or Umrah. Some come here because of its religious importance to the Muslims.
